Craft Tutorials Galore at Crafter-holic!: Crayon Lego Men

Craft Tutorials Galore at Crafter-holic!: Crayon Lego Men: There are plenty of crayon moulding tutorials around the web, but this Lego man one is my favourite - now I've just got to find where to ...

Joel mocked me for my excitement... Until he saw what I was excited about :)

It's MA Birthday!!!

Woke stupidly early, grr, but got some Skyrimming out of it ;)

Joel bought me epicness for my birthday, I am very pleased. The top book is Wraith, and I have never seen an actual copy of it before; it seems to be about ghosts but I haven't got around to reading it yet ;)

We went on the big wheel, well Small One and I went on the big wheel. My partner is  afraid of heights... Had luncheon and funness.

Om Nom Nom

I am definitely going to try this, it looks absolutely delicious, and it buys into my newfound love of crackers with soup! :D

Starting UNI Soon

Jake Thoroughly Enjoying the Park

So we have moved now, and all that Jazz, to Plymouth. The new flat is Teeny compared to the last one, but it's lovely, and we have no crazy neighbours! Yay! Little Man is in a good school and Big Man is happy shooting people (he has found a good Airsofting site). The main reason for moving was Uni, which was a big decidion, and one my partner (who has lived in North Devon his WHOLE life) took to surprisingly well bless him. Overall I am very chuffed with my family right now. When they aren't driving me bloody bonkers.

My Booth at the Exhibition
I was given the option of doing Fashion or Textiles, but the Fashion FDA has much more flexibility in terms of covering both subjects so I decided to opt for that.We do masterclasses in professional techniques and finishing in the second year which really sold it to me, and I can opt to do the third year to turn it into a BA which is awesome. I have the option then of taking a year of two out to get some work experience in before my dissertation too. :)

Things are a bit smoother after the move, to be honest I was settling worse than everyone else (looking after everyone else too much, not enough left for myself) but I've found a really lovely knitting group, and some of my friends have been cool in keeping in contact which is helping. I'll feel much better when I'm doing more, when my course starts, and we have the first Mayfest Committee meeting and I can get started on doing stuff for that. The first meeting is going to be a long one...

Anyway... It's pretty late so I'm going to turn in, but I have lots to add, so I'll post soon.

Doing Due Diligence

I don't actullly know what Due Dilligence is, but I imagine it's quite like what I spent most of today doing. Writing, making notes, going over things I've thought through a thousand times, and more note making. Keeping the books. And still I get to the end of the day and haven't really acheived anything. I haven't rung the people I need to ring, or posted the things I have to post. But I have returned my library books... And paid the massive fine... Oh my...

Oh well, tomorrow is another day, and at least I posted again ;)

It ends in the beginning...

First Blog posts, so old that nothing new can really be said, but there is nowhere else to start but the beginning, and so I must.

Predominantly I am starting this blog as a way of getting into writing regularly. I have spent the last five years melting my brain by staying home with my son, who is (although fascinating) only recently discovering the art of intelligent conversation and reading. I have spent the past six months studying a foundation diploma in art and design, with a mind to study at university, and come September I am planning on accepting my offer of a place in the Independent Art College of my (first- Smug? Me?) choice.

As part of this qualification I have had to writ a written piece. Something which five years ago came naturally to me suddenly reappeared in my life and I did not find it quite so easily as I had hoped it would. Nonetheless on finishing it (this morning) I found myself smiling at my tutors comments, and reminded myself that this is something I used to so for myself, and something I even used to enjoy. So here I am. And this is my first post. Hope to break the cycle and write again soon. God knows I won't be able to handle a degree course if my writing skills aren't at the very least least out of hibernation.
